About Labrador Labor Day with VanDyke
At the time of this filming, VanDyke was a nine month old yellow labrabor from Guiding Eyes being raised by Chuck and Katie Scott of Ridgefield Connecticut.
During the Sept 2005 Labor Day weekend, VanDyke was permitted an opportunity to swim in the pool during the last hour of the last day the pool was open.
Thus Katie invited her brother, Don Petreycik, to join us for a swim while Chuck brought along his humble single-chip video camera hence this video of VanDyke’s first swim – enjoy!

About VanDyke – Woof!
Since this film, VanDyke went on to graduate and has been a working guide in the Boston area for almost six years.
Chuck has raised six guide dog pups, two of them with Katie as a married couple – VanDyke was their first raised together.
Note the main goal of puppy raisers is to teach the dogs basic commands, manners, socialization and expose them to as many people places and things as possible.
This way when the dogs go on to graduate as guides, they can sniff et al., with a been there, done that – Woof On!
